Bigger is better – research proven

Catching up on an old colleague’s blog I was lead to this story on how research has shown that larger monitors resulted in 10-44 percent increase in productivity. It seems that a clean desktop and space to spread out all those windows really does help.

Now I didn’t need this justification when I purchased my large 24″ Dell LCD but I would think others might want to send their boss the URL. On my team we all use laptops as primary machines and everyone is given at least one 19″ LCD (some have two or three!) and I can say having screen real estate makes you feel less overwhelmed when you have the excel, word, secure crt, outlook, trillian and firefox all pulling on you.
