I consider myself rather organized, something I think may be masking my larger problem. In the annual ritual of picking a resolution I have decided to work on time management, something that with a growing family, hectic work environment and love for taking it easy will be both quite a challenge and an enabling reward.
Being organized is part of the problem because although I am always very aware of what I need to do, the problem is getting it done. I will be reading 43 Folders and more about Getting Things Done, but I am amazed in searching on just how many ‘plans’ exist. Even Microsoft has their HUG principle. It seems everyone wants to tell you how to do it. I think I know my first to do for the year – find a process that is lightweight but focuses on accomplishment. I am leaning towards the simple to start, I have no desire to lug around a huge organizer with all the current notes and thoughts.
I created a new category to help myself track my progress. We will see how I do.
