I have followed the Yahoo Hack Day since they started and they are finally opening it up and inviting other developers to come to Yahoo and participate. I think this illustrates how the culture at Yahoo (and many other Internet companies) realize the value in letting the teams innovate.
I know at work I have been trying to socialize this idea internally and I am getting a lukewarm response so far. I hope to use this latest move from Yahoo to add to my case.
