These are the tools I use…
First I use Dreamhost to host the site. I have been very happy with them since I jumped over from Earthlink. I was with Mindspring in the early days (1995) and stuck with them (as Earthlink) for as long as I could stand it.
I started using WordPress a few years ago after initially playing with Movable Type. It makes it very easy to configure and update a blog and now I barely use the features packed into the default install.
Web Tools
- WordPress 2.5 - blogging software that makes it all so easy
- Google Reader - moved online these days and enjoy having that RSS fix whenever and wherever.
- Transmit - FTP software of choice on the Mac
- MarsEdit - it took me a while to get used to using a tool over the web interface, but now I appreciate having access to blog offline and to managing the blog locally
Other Tools
- Canon Digital Rebel XT - my current choice for taking digital pictures.
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 - great 10x optical but still fits in a pocket
- MacBook Pro - very happy in making my primary corporate machine a Mac
- iMac - machine at home that helps me keep all the digital media in order.
